Distressed Asset

The world ended in foreclosure. He's filing an appeal.

The aliens didn't invade Earth. They foreclosed on it.

Insurance adjuster Walt Pruitt has a lousy Appraised Value, a class nobody wants (Independent Adjuster: Universally disliked), and three hours before the System "disposes of" his mother as a fully depreciated asset.

All he has is a red stapler, a ragtag crew, and a seahorse notary who insists on proper forms.

Monsters can be fought. Paperwork can be disputed.
